APLYSIA Environmental Solutions, represented by its directors Tatiana Heid Furley and Heloísa Giacomin, participated this week in the 32nd ABES Congress – Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering.
The event highlighted the role of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) as innovative and sustainable alternatives to mitigate the effects of climate change in the sanitation sector.
Among the examples presented was ReNaturalize (learn more), a method implemented by APLYSIA in the Mangarai River (ES) – in partnership with FINEP, FAPES, CESAN, Suzano, and the Environment Agency – and in the Gualaxo do Norte River (MG) – in partnership with Fundação Renova. The projects have achieved remarkable results, including increased hydraulic retention, reduced turbidity and nitrogen levels, and enhanced local biodiversity.
