The ReNaturalize project, developed by APLYSIA in partnership with Fundação Renova, will be the only Brazilian work presented at the Scientific Advances in River Restoration (SARR) congress, taking place from September 6 to 8 at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The congress gathers leading scientific advances in river restoration, and ReNaturalize will showcase the hydrogeomorphological and ecological benefits achieved after two years of implementing the technique in the Gualaxo do Norte River (MG).
The project aims to accelerate the recovery from the impacts caused by the Fundão Dam collapse in Mariana (MG), using a Nature-Based Solution (NbS).
Among the 66 approved works, ReNaturalize represents Brazil, highlighting APLYSIA’s commitment to innovative environmental solutions grounded in science.
The responsible team includes Tatiana Furley, Sabrina Calado, Katia Regina Chagas, Douglas Andrade, Hana Fernandes, Pedro Ivo Diógenis, and Monique Bodart.
